The building site belongs to one owner and it occupies one square structural unit of the quarter. Therefore the project building should represent complete organism, saving the "presence" of four absent buildings. The archaeological approach to architecture requires the preservation of the existing structure. But the complete reproduction of the structure will destroy the archaeological material. The proposed grid fixes the integrated module of the historical structure. The step of the columns is consciously displaced from the boundary walls of the historical parcels. It allows to exhibit the archaeological facts. The quarter was formed in the epoch of Renaissance. The application of the sgraffito was characteristic in that time. The buildings on the several parcels were united in the uniform structure, thus turning into palazzo. The best known Renaissance monument is palazzo Ducale (Doges`s Palace) in Venice. The diagonal lines of the palazzo facades derived from the Gothic cross masonry. This motive have served for the sgraffito, which combine with the glass ornaments of the hotel facades.

The completion of the quarter composition requires alignment of the facades in one line. But traditionally in Lviv, modern buildings, which were entered in the old street receded in depth from the general building line. For the continuation of the traditions and for the increase of the space on the crossroads, the part of the facade recedes, leaving the trace as the curtain from the foliage of the art glass. The veins of the leaves repeat the structure of the crone and of the whole tree. The glass leaves follow the building structure and draw the square grid of the city. The glass curtain on the one side emphasizes the importance of the historical environment for the visitors of the hotel and on the other side - interest, mystery for the inhabitants and tourists, which walk by streets of unique Lviv.
